Within two months of its launch, Jiomart has emerged as the first choice of customers in the country's online grocery segment. The company launched Jiomart-App on Google Play Store and Apple App Store a few days ago and in a few days Jiomart-App has been downloaded more than 1 million times from Google Play Store.
According to App-Annie, the world's reputed app ranking company, the Jiomart app is also flagging in the overall shopping category. It has reached the second place in the Indian ranking in the Apple App Store and third on the Google Play Store. 2.5 lakh orders are being booked daily on Jiomart. This number of orders is the highest in the online grocery segment. The number of orders is also increasing steadily. Customers using the Sodexo coupon are able to pay using it at Jiomart. Jiomart is benefiting from this with both customers.
Before Jiomart-App, the company used to book orders on its website. Even after the arrival of the app, the old account of the customers will remain the same. The company has made some arrangements in which the customer will be able to login using their login account on almost all the platforms like website, Android and Apple ios. That is, the items ordered on the website will be available on the customer's Android mobile phone and on the website ordered from the mobile phone.
In the last week of May this year, Jiomart started with 200 cities. For the first time in 90 cities, customers were associated with grocery shopping online. With its launch, Jiomart is ready to beat its rivals. Most of the things available on Jiomart are 5% cheaper than other similar platforms. The prices of branded goods have also been kept somewhat low.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, recently said on Jiomart's ambitious expansion plan during the AGM "Jiomart will now focus on increasing its reach and distribution capabilities. Jiomart is committed to providing consumers with better facilities and shopping experience" In addition to grocery, we will also cover the areas of electronics, fashion, pharmaceutical and healthcare in the coming days. In the coming years, we will serve more customers in many more cities.
While announcing the deal with Facebook, Mukesh Ambani talked about adding 12 crore farmers and 3 crore grocery shops in the country. This mix will be the specialty of Jiomart to unorganized grocery stores in the organized retail segment. According to a report by global broker house Goldman-Sachs, Reliance's partnership with Facebook could result in the company becoming the market leader in the online grocery space. The company is expected to have a 50 percent market share by 2024.
